Al-Qurain House Interior in 1993  The Kuwait-America Foundation, through its Desert Peace program, sponsored a week-long visit to Kuwait for 193 close relatives of American soldiers killed during the Gulf War. The Al-Yousifis, the author's family, hosted one group of six parents. This visit included a tour of Al-Qurain. Three of the fathers (with name badges) are shown here. The two mothers are in purple. The Al-Qurain guide is on the right. The others are from the hosting party. (See also Overview pages 35-36 and .)
