Free Kuwait Campaign
On February 26, news reached London that Iraqi troops had been driven out of Kuwait City. Iraqi troops were in retreat, the nation was liberated, and the Free Kuwait Campaign was over. Four days later, on March 2, Kuwaitis massed in the street to celebrate the liberation. They carried green, white, red, and black balloons – the colors of Kuwait's flag. Meanwhile, concerns arose for military POWs and civilian hostages held in Iraq.
